Varnishes are the final coatings which act as a protective sacrificial layer over your finished artwork, protecting it from air-borne pollutants, dirt and grease, which would otherwise come into contact with the paint.
Winsor & Newton Professional Acrylic Varnishes are the best varnishes to use with Professional Acrylic Colour. These varnishes have a UV protective agent which improves lightfastness and protects from other UV damage such as fading or colour shifting in tone. These varnishes are therefore particularly beneficial when coming to varnish non-lightfast media, such as digital print or giclee prints for example.
These varnishes dry to an even finish, can be intermixed to vary the result to achieve any sheen and can be removed with Acrylic Varnish Remover.
