UNI POSCA: THE MASTER CLASS

UNI POSCA: THE MASTER CLASS

Any Surface | Any Style | Every Colour at The Ink Spot

More Than a Marker. It's Paint in a Pen.

POSCA markers have become the gold standard for artists, hobbyists, and students across New Zealand. Using water-based pigment ink that is lightfast and water-resistant, they offer the control of a pen with the opacity of acrylic paint. At The Ink Spot, we don't just sell POSCA; we provide the technical know-how to make your art last—whether it's on a Raglan surfboard or an NCEA art board.

1. Find Your Perfect Tip (Nib Selection)

PC-1MR / PC-1K (Ultra Fine)

Best for: Fine outlines, technical drawing, and adding high-detail highlights to paintings.

PC-3M / PC-5M (Medium)

The most versatile sizes. Perfect for customising sneakers, clothing, and creative colouring.

PC-8K / PC-17K (Bold)

Broad chisel and block tips. Essential for mural art, window displays, and large-scale street art.

2. How to Make it Permanent

POSCA works on almost anything, but "permanence" depends on the surface. Here is our specialist advice for common NZ projects:

Surface Treatment for Permanence
Textiles/Fabric Iron on the reverse side (no steam) to set the ink into the fibres.
Glass/Ceramics Bake in a domestic oven at 160°C for 45 mins, then spray with varnish.
Wood/Metal Spray with 2 layers of clear water-based varnish for long-term protection.
